Showzey is built from the ground up with your privacy and security in mind. In this document, we set out what information we collect, how we use it and how we protect it.
It's simple. Any information we capture from you will not be shared with anyone else.
We won't use it for anything either without your consent.
Best practices have been followed to ensure your data remains private and secure:
If you would like to use Showzey to manage your photographs on a social networking site such as Facebook, we will ask
you to authorize us to access your account using the secure password-less services provided by these sites.
Facebook Connect is an example of such a service. When you try to connect to such a site from within Showzey the first time, we will
bring up a window in which you will authenticate yourself to the site. We store neither your login id not your password to the site.
Instead, after you have authenticated yourself to the site, the site will ask you whether you want to give Showzey permission to your
account on your behalf. If you agree, then the site will give us a token that we will store securely. You can subsequently revoke this
permission anytime. As long as we have your permission, we will only access your account on this site for the following purposes:
When a site that you want us to access on your behalf does not support open standard password-less authorization protocol, we will ask you provide your login id and password. Gmail is the only such service. If you choose we can store your login id and password securely on our site. We use these credentials to access the external site such as Gmail to locate photographs that you have stored there.
When photographs are found in your email as attachments, we retrieve and we store them in your Picasa, Facebook, or Facebook account. We can store them on Showzey itself.
When you visit Showzey, we record your browser type and IP address. In addition, we store certain information from your browser using "cookies." We use session ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in. These cookies terminate once the user closes the browser. We also use a persistent cookie that stores your connection to other sites. You can delete this cookie using your browser settings if you do not want to use this feature.
You make your or your friends' photographs accessible using Showzey, you do so at your own risk. Although we may support privacy settings to limit access to the photographs and the related annotations, we cannot guarantee that our security measures are perfect or impenetrable. We do not control the actions of other users with whom you may choose to share photographs and related information. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that these photographs will not be viewed by unauthorized persons. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on Showzey. Even after removal, copies of your photographs and related content may remain accessible in cached and archived Web pages or if other users have copied or stored your photographs or related content.
If you choose to use our invitation service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for information needed to send the invitation, such as your friend's email address. We will send your friend an email in your name inviting him or her to visit the site, and may also send reminders to them. Showzey stores this information to send invitations and reminders, and may use this information to track the success of our referral program.
By using Showzey, you agree to have your personal data transferred to and processed in the United States.
Showzey does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to login to Showzey. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to access Showzey or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to or on Showzey. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us via email at: privacy@showzey.com
Your access to Showzey is governed by the Showzey terms of use. The terms of use, including the Privacy and Security Policy, are subject to change solely at the discretion of Showzey and its management.
